There very closely related, some say the same species just different catch locations. A altoflava is said to be taller bodied and has less black then nanoluteus

no matter how you look at it, they are very close cousins, its kind of like trying to tell the difference between hogaboomeroom and many of the other barred Amphilophus.

It was mine, gave them away when I moved, they came from Pleco Pete at a gcca auction, or swap. In the pic it is approx 3".
When I first got them, they were @ 1", as below.
great species for small tanks, 50 gallons, maybe even smaller. Mine grew out in a 75 with juvie Herichthys carpintus, and held their on until the Herichthys out grew them.
