I have had loaches and some eels do this into overhead filters and a colony of bristlenose catfish (bushynose ? ) which live and breed within my central filtration pipes.

If the pipe 'emerges underwater in a tributary of the River ' & 'is three feet above the water level' where the trout are, why is so little water coming out?

The dynamics are just wrong.

The white water behind the fish looks wrong too.

We don't know if the pipe stays level or angles down under the ground.
