So I'm feeding my FW Moray Eels some goldfish. If one eel has food it's common for another eel to grab it and twist until the food is divided. But In the excitement, one eel's head ended in the other larger eel's mouth. I guess because there was a goldfish there, the larger eel did not release and it seemed the smaller eel's fate was sealed. You could see that the struggling smaller eel only made the larger eel bite harder to the point where his biting muscles were shaking. I was pinned to the tank!
Amazingly, the smaller eel took his tail and pushed it in the mouth of the larger eel. It jammed it deeper and deeper until the larger eel looked like it was gagging, then BOOM it released the smaller eel!
I'm keeping watch over the smaller eel because you can clearly see there was trauma to his head, but no blood. Immediately, the smaller eel went on a chase for the remaining gold fish in the tank. I took the goldfish out and used tweezers to feed it to the smaller eel.
Any horror stories like that?
