I read that thease guys prefer all freshwater, is this true. also can one live in a 20 gal.

These are very active non-stop fish. They need a lot of room to swim. Recommended tank size for 1, is 15g. Yu might be able to fit 2 in the 20g but certainly no more & no tank mates. Also, be prepared to do dentistry on them every 4-6 months, as this species is best known for their trouble with overgrown teeth.
