Each rock is roughly like 1 1/2 inch or so... Heres a pic next to my small oscars after they got beat up by some jds I no longer have.... The oscars are fully recovered now but...uploadfromtaptalk1341781857540.jpg
I went with that rock cause I dnt see toany ppl wi th larger rock as substrate but now im thinking sand would be better for the overall look... I got 2 oscars one aro a pleco a sun catfish and 8 angels all bout same relitave size.... So ? Is sand or rock this way?uploadfromtaptalk1341782002383.jpg

Well that settles that.... Now how do I go about cleaning the sand and how much should I use.... I work at westlake and they come in 50 lb bags.... And do it all at once I would assume?

Put the sand in an old pillowcase and run water thriugh it in a bucket while mixing it with your hands until it comes clean. What kind of sand is it?

Get rid of the rocks use smaller gravel or sand you'll end up with a nitrite and nitrate problem due to poor cleaning of the rocks... nice tank setup though! Looks great!!!

go with pool filter sand less cleaning and wont clog ur filter

Well the brand is called green country soil and its the playgrpud sand... westlake os like a hardware store... Like ace hardware and we dnt have pool filter sand so I was hopin to us my dicount on it. Its jus a brown sand.... I would like to use like mud to give it that legit natural look but then my tank would constantly be cloudy lol
