amazon sword problems

I am trying to plant some amazon swords but my Oscar keeps ripping them out. How can keep them planted?

Try some plant weights and REALLY burry them in the subtrate. If your oscar uproots them after they're REALLY ancored, then chances are he is gonna keep doing it so long as there are plants in there.

You're probably going to have more luck with plants which are attached to driftwood or clay pots. Honestly, most people who have Oscars just go with old "plasticus planticus", because it's really hard to keep plants thriving if they're constantly being disturbed.

I would just pot them. When I kept anchoring plants my oscar destroyed them systematically if he could'nt move them around. I ended up giving up completely after going through countless plants.

a semi close option like msj would be to cut the bottom of a terracotta pot. this would go around the plant keeping the oscar away fromt he base hopes of giving it time to root its self.

Thanks, they are potted with the bottoms of water bottles. I am going to bury the plants deep into the tank, and if that doesn't work i'll try to use weights.

Not sure what you have been looking at but there are many different varieties of Amazon Sword. Perhaps you can find the scientific name to help us clear things up.
