Hello everyone!

I've gotten some amazon sword plants about 3 months ago Even tho a few leaves have browned and died out, Every plant has been growing new leaves which is a very good sign. :headbang2 I also have many Java fern which are doing great.

Unfortunately I've noticed all the new amazon leaves are very wavy in comparison to the old leaves which are fairly flat. Am I doing something wrong or is this growth natural?

- I have about 1.5 WPG I want to upgrade to T5 lights but unfortunately I don't have the money yet. I've heard that 1.5 WPG Is adequate for basic growth though.

- I only use liquid ferts since I have more Java fern in my tank. Should I introduce substrate ferts? I've suspected this may be the problem.

- I have no CO2 added to my tank. I don't believe its necessary for my current lighting and for plants such as amazons and java ferns.

Any help would be greatly appreciated ^.^ Thanks!

Your sword is just converting from emerged growth to submerged growth, which is perfectly normal.

Root tabs around the bottom of your swords would improve growth. Also you want to pinch off any damaged leaves at the base.
