Amazon Sword???

Hey guys is there different kind of sword plants? As I have two that the lady at the pet store claimed to both be amazons, but are distinctivly different. One has a long stem coming from the root base and has a more disc shaped leaf at the top. While the other has broad leaves coming right from the root base with little to no stem?
Any help?

Amazon Sword plants are cultivated emersed they grow oval shaped leaves. When grown submerged the leaves grow long sword shaped.

There are many different species of echinodorus (amazon swordplants). Do a google search of echinodorus species.

Sorry im not fully understanding you? So your saying that if my plants were grown "born," for sake of a better word, under water they would grow that distinct sword shape? where as if the were grown "in" not under water they display an oval leaf on a long stem?

There are 31 described echinodorous species. If you post some pictures of your plants, perhaps they can be identified.

Yes that is correct. The pictures you show do look to me to be the same species. the one with the long stem and oval leaves will begin to grow the long sword shaped leaves like the other one once it adjust to being submerged.
