Yup you can cut them away from the shoot and plant them. Mine have done this several times, its a sign the plant is happy and healthy!

The tank is a 55 gallon, HOWEVER! it can bend space and time the top leads to a dimension where everything is bigger, 55 gallons becoming 55,000 gallons the glass is a portal viewer, allowing one to see it normally, except for the back, i left that normal glass so you can get a real feel for the size of the beasts
