I'd like to put some plants in my 300. The tank is 30" tall and I have 4 6700k T8 bulbs over the top of it. I plan on attaching them deep into the sand in the corners, or onto drift wood so the fish don't move them around. The stock is 1 Giant Gourami, 1 Jardini, and 1 Marbled Pim. Would I be wasting my time? Is there a better plant to try?

I've got this tank set up on a drip system, and the nitrates never exceed 20ppm, usually 10-15. Is it worth a shot?

Amazons are a good start. Try to find some with established roots for the substrate buried plants. Amazons are good and tough, and can take a pretty good thrashing.

Amazons are a beautiful addition to any tank. I wouldn't put any fast growers in there with a drip system though, they'd suck the nitrates dry and you'd wind up either having to dose or dead plants. Throw some anubias on driftwood or rocks for an easy, low maintenance compliment. They are super slow growers so you won't have to worry about ferts or anything.

I'd get some really big ones, to keep the fish from accidentally uprooting them.

Ditto, if this is not an option make sure they are anchored fairly well. To make top notch anchors I take milk jug tops and cut a cross in them and feed the roots through the cross. This won't stop the determined but it will keep most accidental uproots from happening... at least long enough until the root systems gets well established.

Point one, with low nitrates etc the plant wont grow, point two, with a wet/dry it's very hard to get a lot of trouble getting the plant to grow because of the lack of c02, third point, won't the gg eat the plant?

Point one, I know nothing about aquatic plants. Point two, that's why I'm asking here, third point................... I don't have a third point.

It's true, I have tried it a lot of times and with me it just aint working. I can't even keep java fern to grow because of the lack of nitrition and to much co2. You can try but I think it won't work.
