Amazon tree boa?

Whats the deal with these guys? From the few things I have found on them, they are a relatively cheap tree boa that can be kept in a 20 tall and can be handled. That seems too good to be true. Whats the catch?

Well, except for that last part about being handled, you're right! ATBs are notoriously snappy. Few will settle down to tolerate an occasional handling, but they're no ball python or cornsnake. I consider them more of a poor man's Emerald tree boa, an affordable display snake.

This is not average, handling my ATB usually results in massive bloodletting lol. Excuse the crappy quality, I was so shocked I took them with my cellphone lol. The last one was taken shortly before she bit me in the forehead

Most arboreal snakes are fairly nippy. Amazons have huge teeth for their size, just like your GTP...

I am sure that somewhere someone has one that is "tame" so to speak, but for the most part they are VERY tempremental. Also they have what could be considered large curved teeth for thier size so even a quick bite can become a bloodbath.

BUT.........when given proper care and treated as a display animal they can be extremely rewardable snakes.

Well, the problem is that very, very few are captive-bred last I checked. They're still imported for the most part. And even the CB ones are still pretty nippy, I would imagine.

ATB's are nippy from what I hear like everyone else said.. Someone on here(besides SimonL) has them but forget exactly who..

Why not just get the old faithful ball python? or want something arboreal? or just want something different?
