South American snakenecks aren't bad with fish larger then they are.

Are the matas active turtles?

yeah, maybe something like Phrynops geoffroanus. Will want access to land areas though to bask. Probably best off trying to do a pond and large fish turtle mix really.

mine is in-between feedings while he looks for more food. when there is food, he waits and sucks them up as they swim by
 
Podocnemis are good aswell, but they get big, well some do
