I have a small american bullfrog in my pond that lost its tail a month ago, I dont specifically feed him but he is healthy and fast what could he be eating? do they eat snails and minnows and guppys because I still have water striders in my pond . what is their typical diet.
Well bullfrogs are gluttons they will eat pretty much whatever fits into thier mouths. everyhing form fish and frogs to rodents and insects. So he is probably eating whatever you have swimming or wondering near the pond.
to post you just did, to do a thread click the little button that says thread a the top of each section.
I netted muy pond and have discovered that he is probably eating my mosquitoe fish and minnows , so I got him ten more and a small crayfish , want to be able to through a rat in there one day and watch them be swalloed.
the cray is a quarter of the size of the bullfrog so i think iam in the clear.the bullfrog is half the size of the average fist and the cray is like a small paperclip.
I have four in my small backyard pond. The pond is about five feet by two feet by three feet. The frogs are each about the size of a fist, i have never seen anything edible around the pond so i dont know what they're eating, but they've been there for two years now.
I have 5, in a tub in my room. They will eat ANYTHING, as long as it is somewhat smaller than they are. Not sure on snails though. Might be too slow/ hard to attract attention.
