Hello, as I already said in introduction section a few days ago I just started a my new 158galons (720L) tank. This will house 2 pair of Severum and a few Geophagus Red Head Tapajos and Altifrons. Right now I'm looking for some south american plants to put in. Some advices ?

I love that back ground! Severum will eat many plants so I went with Anubias Coffefolia. Not south american but looks good and my severums don't eat it. My rainbow cichlids were moved because they kept chomping on it.

Looks good, I have never had any success with keeping plants with severs, so always had them in just a hardscape.

Great looking tank! The Background and Driftwood are awesome! I am not a huge fan of the lighter colored substrate, but to each their own.

Welcome and I look forward to seeing more of your tank!

I don't think they're sa but my sevs are fine with green tiger lotus, onion plants, and amazon swords.

Very few plants sevs wont eat but fish are all different and differen't people have different luck. I would say start slow try a little and see if it works. I am thinking of getting an amazon sword just because I like them and hopefully it wont get eaten.

Sevs will leave anubias and java fern alone. I also find no cichlids like hornwort. I have a bunch in my 120 with Altifrons, Red heads and some other cichlids and rainbows.
In my LFS they have some Mbuna with hornwort and they won't eat it.

Amazon swords seem to be ignored by my geos but I'm not sure about severums, the Rotkeil I used to have completely ignored plants
