American Eel and plant ID

I was at the bait shop today and they had about 20 American eels in a 15 gallon cooler, I decided to get one. On the way home from the bait shop I stopped at a pond and picked up some plants and snails. I tried feeding him Hikari carnivore pellets and blood worms, he didn't go for them right away. I turned off the lights and maybe he will eat. The guy at the store told me that they had these eels for about 2 weeks and they haven't been feed.

I am about to go to my fathers house and pick up a 75 gallon which he has and will probably set it up tomorrow. I will be sure to post a video once I finish setting up his next home. Here are some videos of the eel and the plants which I can use some help identifying.

Ive tried to keep these, could never get them to eat. The place ive seen them at has them on feeders. Try some guppies or rosies or minnows for now. They are pretty hardy and I know they like brackish water so try adding some salt eventually.

I have one - also from the bait shop - and the ONLY thing she eats is meaty foods - FD krill, pieces of fish/shrimp/other meats - absolutely no pellet food is accepted (yet)

My anguilla japonica eats hikari cichlid gold but it took almost a year of captive life before it even showed any interest in them.

Try a small crayfish and small fish. Live foods usually work with most fish. Then after the fish is settled try introducing other foods.

The plant in your picture is hornwort.
