Hey all Im after some advice on how to switch my up and running 6ft tank from American tank to an African tank! I'm currently housing in there a pair of cons about 15cm and a pair of green Texas 10-12cm and a small pair of cons about 5cm and I want to get into African community tank and maybe have a pair to breed and watch how Africans breed, any one have any advice?

The requirements for the Central Americans you mentioned and many African rift lake cichlids, are about the same. Same water chemistry, temp, need for space and similar aggressive tendencies.
