ammonia and nitrite help...

hey guys, a week ago my ammonia was very high and i fix the problem .. now its at 0 .. today i notice the nitrite was kind of high .. whys that?.. is it because its going through the cycle?... i been having this tank for 3 years now.. ph at 6.8
 
Give it a bit, do some water changes and keep an eye on it. If the tank was cycled and stock and feeding haven't changed it should level out.
