I have had my 210 up for a few months now, I am running a aq110 2 rena xp2s and a fx5. at one point i had my water permaiters going perfect. but a month ago I added the second rena xp2 and my ammonia is at 1ppm 0 nitrate 0 nitrite ph 6 doing water changes 25-30% every other day or so and cant get it down. could adding the new filter start a cycle process. I have 3dats 5inch,bass 5inch, motoro 10 inch, arow 14inch, 3 bichirs 7inch. everything is eating and acting normall. should I just keep up with the wc, try cutting feedings?

Adding another filter cannot cause ammonia readings to increase - and in any case after a month it's seeded. Either you just don't have enough filtration overall to handle the bioload or possibly your pH is dipping low enough that the biological filtration is beginning to go into hibernation.

Definitely keep up the WC, probably step them up actually until the ammonia reading returns to zero, and yes possibly also cut feeding down a little until the ammonia issue is resolved.

A pH of 6 is great if it isn't dropping below 6, but if - like me - you have very little Kh in your water it's easy for a pH of 6 to rapidly drop further and retard the filter, leading to ammonia readings coming up off zero. I've had this issue with my ray tanks in the past and I'm now adding Baking Soda to buffer my water nearer 7.
