Ammonia Question?

My ammonia is at 1ppm and just wont go down.I use live bacteria and live plants,And I do regular water changes.Is 1ppm actually that high?And what can I do to get it and keep it down?

Could be...Should I not feed for 1 or 2 days or feed only once a day?

Maybe your stock is out growing the filter...it can be alot of things, from filter media being plugged and needing cleaning to who knows what...List the tank size, stocklist and filtration please...

your test kit could be gone bad too.
it happens.

if you are using dip sticks, you'll never get a correct reading.
