No matter what I do I can't get it under 1.0 . It's aroudn .5-1 Not too clear with comparing to the chart. Nitrate 0 Nitrite 0 Strange huh? I keep the gravel very clean. Every day even twice a day, I take a small siphon and a bucket and suck the poop out. I've been doing frequent water changes once every 1-2 days. NOTHING, Ammonia up the Ying Yang. I have fish in the tank as well.

How long has the tank been running? I'm with dwilder on this one, I suspect your tank isn't cycled yet.

test your tap water. it may have a little in it which would explain why it never disappears.

yep your tank isnt cycled thats why you have ammonia eventualy bacteria will grow that break it into nitrite and then nitrate but be sure your tanks pH is above 6 i had issues cycling my tank for 2 months and only started cycling after my driftwood stopped leaching and my pH went back up

if you test your replacement water source then you have a baseline to compare your tank water to.

I would say you havent even begun to cycle yet. Are you dosing a bacteria supplement? If not, do it. If so, get a different one.

hi i have a 60 gallon that did the same to me,i bought a ammonia bag and 3 weeks later its never left 0 on the ammonia chart, these ammonia bags can be recharged "reused" many times just recharge with tank salt for 3 hours there only about 12$ for a 60 gallon bag, and 23$ for a 150 gallon bags please give this a try youll be shocked a month later hope this help, ps just because it allways stays at 0 even after 2 months doesnt mean you stop doing water changes because there well still be media build up in your tank just no ammonia sorry for the spelling in a hurry good luck with your fish piss problem lol
