Amphilophus Amarillo/Amphilophus Midas hybrids

Rocky - He's an Amphilophus Amarillo 2 yrs old. He's about 9.5in long and weighs over 3 pounds, Cora is an Amphilophus Midas about 2 yrs old. She is about 6in long and about a pound.

The babies are 9 months old. 67 survived out of over 150 hatched out fry. Right now I have 21 left.

idk my midas is about 9-10" hes about 3 pounds

I would have culled them all. This is why nice purebred amphilophus are hard to come by.

Your estimate is way off man. Go look at a bass weight to size chart! They are probably the closest in bulk i could compare it to. I had a 13 inch red devil and he only weighed 1.5 lbs (on a scale) filled out! Your probably lucky if its 1 pound at 9.5 inches! I bet you have some great fishing stories! Ha ha you joker!

oh btw i have a 17 inch bass on my wall was 4.9 lb?
i said around 3 lb im guessing 2.7-2.8 for mine i know his isnt 3 lb.

I am all for Hybrids AS LONG AS THEY ARE KEPT IN RESPONSIBLE OWNERS HOMES ...

I had some guys looking to buy some of my fry which were hYbrid and denied him teh sale , due to his lack of knowledge of the hobby. Everyone has their opinions on how to do things ....
