Amphilophus and TOYS

everybody who keeps big Midas, Amarillos, Labs., etc...... Knows that they can be a pain when it comes to heaters, filter intake tubes, decor., etc... do to bordem or just aggressive a**holes especially for loners

How many people have tried TOYS. It really does work a lot of times, keeps them for breaking stuff and aids in growing humps sometimes (check out my avator R.I.P MURPHY

I don't have experience w/ any amphs, but I have an oscar that loves to break heaters. I have heard that toys help too. I have dithers and floating hornworth to distrcact my O. He basically pulls the hornwort around the tank for hours sometimes He hasn't touch the heater in over a year. I would try something like that or maybe a ball that floats. That might work. Some people use mirrors, but I don't think it is a good idea, because it causes stress on the fish.

mirrors only distract them temporarily they actually leave them only eventually
