Amphilophus growth

Just curious on people who have had personal experience with keeping amphilophus. I have a Red Devil (probably midevil) and just recently hit the 1 year mark with him. Was kind of curious what to expect growth wise the 2nd year. Maybe get a couple more inches out him? Any input is appreciated.

My guy Casper pushed out to about 10in in the first year.
The second year he pushed out to 12in. The real difference tho is he bulked out alot.

Casper is a Amphilophus Saggitae tho so your experience may vary.

Yah I feel like mine is right about 9”-10” right now. Looks like he has a similar build as Casper.

I had a Hogaboomorum about 10 years ago and it grew at the same rate as mentioned above. I got it at about 1.5 inches and within a year was pushing 10". Had to re-home it when I moved tho so didn't have it much longer than that. Wish I had a pic ?

I have been debating on what other cichlids to get when I get a couple more tanks down stairs at the house. Was debating between a Hoga and Chancho actually.

I loved my Hoga, wish I could have kept it longer. It was mean tho.. couldn't keep it with anything else lol. I seem to like these "one big fish per tank"
