I know puffers are very sensitive tl medications, but is amquel+ safe for the? had an ammonia spike not terrible, did 50% water change so far it is better, but wondering if it is ok to put it in there to help with the ammonia.

If you have an ammonia spike, your tank isn't cycled or you're overfeeding or something is dead & rotting in there. Please tell us more about your tank:

How long has it been set up?
How did you cycle it?
What size is the tank?
What fish are in there?
What & how much are you feeding?
Parameters: ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, pH, SG?

Follow my sig daily & dechlor with Prime, until your ammonia & nitrite remain 0 at all times, even if this means 90% daily water changes.

It has been set up for about 3 months now.
I normally do a 50% water change every other day, i believe it is from slight over feeding. Currently my 55 which is over stocked and is being fixed this friday. currently there is my adult male clnvict and about 35 of his babies a pleco my lil gsp is in there only for a couple of days and i have been making sure to moniter it closely.
ph is about 6.8- 7.0
ammonia is currently between 0 and .25 its gone down in the past two days as ive been going nuts.

Your GSP should be in BW. Other fish won't appreciate that at all. What are your plans?

Either today or tomorrow one of my friends is paying me back and then i am going to the lfs to buy the sand crushed coral marine salt hydrometer, i have a list some where then he will be going into my 20 and ill begin to slowly making it brackish by adding the salt by .002 a week. not too sure if im forgetting anything.

and he will be all by himself also.

Good plan! Eventually, he'll be needing a 30g or larger.

yay i know if you say its a good plan then im pretty golden. yea it may be like 6 months or so to get a 30 but he will get it. if it wasnt for mfk and tpf id be so lost

i use amquel + all the time and it works great and i have never had a problem with it,it does what it says.
