So the wife went out the other day to the fish shop to get some things that we needed and she came home with this little dude20220117_110244.jpg20220117_110217.jpg20220117_105700.jpg20220117_105633.jpg
His tail looks a bit rough but when it's opened it's only a little nip assuming it's from the other puffers in the tank my questions are: is this a gsp?
If so whendo they need to be converted to brackish?

As this was an impulse buy he's currently in my planted 10g laying waste to the snails in there.

I will set up a proper tank for him soon I just wanna get a base idea of a time line for it.

To my wife's credit she asked to see them fed; found out they had been qt treated and then she picked the fattest and most active one

Looks to be a gsp, or one of the closer relatives.
It could probably spend a few months in fresh, but I’d say the sooner the better for brackish. Eventually near full marine is best.

Yep.

Really only amazons and goldens are 100% gonna need trimming. Snails, shrimp, and clams are enough for most else.

Sorry been mad busy and missed the thread…

as others have said, can start converting to brackish slowly even at a youngish age and as for their teeth, GSP’s arent really known for teeth issues as long as they get a shell diet ??
