Okay, so I've been reading about arowana diets and noticed that a lot of people are suggesting lizards on their diet list. The thought of feeding a lizard to an arowana is a little un-nerving, but I came up with a truly amazing and alternative, never ending food source.

First, aquire a group of leopard or fat tail geckos (about 5 or 6 will do). As a weekly treat, feed your arowana one gecko tail. By the time you've fed a weekly tail from each gecko, the first geckos tail will have regenerated and the process can restart. The best part is that the tails store nutrients, so you are always offering a nutrient dense treat to your arowana.

It's brilliant!

Ps I'm only kidding, I would never keep reptiles just to use thief tails as food, I just thought it was a funny idea

I have a leopard gecko....and I say that idea sux! :P
It will grow back every time it falls off but it will keep getting shorter and shorter. Eventually the lizard will die because it won't get the right fat in its tail.

Dumb idea :thumbsdow for whatever purpose you intended.

it's a stupid idea! how many tails do you think is enough to fill a huge fish like that? even 6 geckos don't fill half of the stomach of an adult aro! The gecko take quite some time to grow back the tail! The geckos will die very quickly with their tail keep being cut off! And at what cost to feed the geckos? if you feed them cricket, it would be better to feed your aro those cricket.
And a lot of people in Asia feed their aro gecko because they can find lots of geckos around their house!
