I was new to the cichlid tank world and bought this fish saying that it was a firemouth...yeah right...I know now this is not a firemouth. Wondering what it is. I have him/her in a 75g w/ a salvani and a black belt. Do you guys think this set up is ok or do I need to add a fish or 2 for aggression. I do plan on gettting a 125 for them by the end of summer. Thanks for you help.

that my friend, is looks like a red devil/midas cichlid.

the 75 will be ok until summer for him until you upgrade as you mentioned. tankmates however, are going to be chancey.

alot of people say devils are nasty as can be, yet in my experience, mine havent been anymore nasty than my other fish, as long as everyone is fed well, and has their own little hiding place. and they live with fish 3x their size, which people also say is a no-no.

be wise, and watch the tank. be ready to throw a divider in, or move tanks if needed. they havent got a nasty rap for nothing i wouldent think
