My Oscar's been having "Night Terrors" for a couple of months now. I think it might be my catfish rubbing up against him at night when he's asleep, so it freaks him out and he trashes all over the place and gets my head soaked (aquarium is about 2ft away from my bed). So I was trying to sell him...no luck. Then I started talking to some guy at a new lfs (it's been a few months and I'm afraid they might go out of business soon because they have no sign on top of their store). He said he'll take my Oscar and place him in a bigger tank (150g) with the Asian Arowana on display. He also said he'll give me some credit. I've been interested in buy this 27g Eclipse System-like tank that they have for $80. Do you guys think I should do it? I've had the Oscar for about 1 1/2 years now. I'd hate to give him up, but it'd be better for him. How do you think the Asian Arowana will be with my Oscar?

Here's a pic of my pal...just in case anyone wants to buy him (SoCal pick up)

He's going to give you $80 worth of credit? It would be a hell of a deal.

How much credit are you getting for the oscar? That's a nice looking oscar. If it were mine I would have a hard time giving it up. I would just buy another tank for it.

the guy has an asian aro in his store and he's in socal?!?!
whats the address to the fish store? :D
yah, the oscar should be fine.

yeah whats the adress, ill take a drive there if he has an asian :naughty:

anyways i agree with someone who said it before, id just buy another tank for him, a 55g or so....cause i cant just give up a fish i raised... that may just be me ;)

No experience with asian arowanas, but you get a nice oscar there. Congratulations.
BTW, what is your catfish? :D

Best regards.

Daniel.

I have a Walking Catfish and a TSN x RTC Hybrid

Yeah, if he's got and asian aro and I were you, I would do absolutely anything I could to get that guy!! Especially if he might be going out of business. If you do that, then you won't have anything to worry about with your O. Either way though, I wouldn't think it would be a problem if they were together (obv. no first hand experience with asian aro's though)

The Asian is display only and not for sale. He said he would put my Oscar in there with him since it was a bigger tank than mine. I have no experience with an Asian Arowana so I don't know how aggressive they are. I don't know how much credit he'll give me for my Oscar, but a tank like that would be hard to find at $80 and with credit for my Oscar, it should be even cheaper...even if it's a few bucks.
