So, just like the rest of you I've been fascinated by animals, especially reptiles since a young age.

I've been independent for a long time now, but since I couldn't come home for Mother's Day, I decided to come visit my parents. While out with my mother, I suggested that we go to a pet store so I could buy some frozen mice to take home.

While waiting for the feeders to be packaged, I pointed to the Emerald Tree Boa, and she cringed as most mothers would.

I told her that I love snakes, because they are interesting animals, and after all, they are just animals.

I just had to ask her then - "Do you remember the time we went on vacation to Malaysia and when I pet that snake (it was an Albino Burmese Python) you wouldn't talk to me for the rest of the trip? I just didn't understand why."

She replied
"That didn't happened in Malaysia, it was in Singapore." (we actually went to both places)
As if she had been thinking about it.

Then she continued
"It was short of me, I wish I could've been more supportive of your interests. I hope you will forget what I did. I'm sorry son."

I really wasn't expecting that. Especially knowing that she is a very dedicated Christian.

Moms can be wacky some times. my mom is a super christian as well and I hear it all the time about my tattoos and stretched ears. I think she finally accepts it but doesn't like it.

always nice to hear stories where people recognize the mistakes/comments they made that offended others. Not too much of that going on these days.

Agreed bobby. Sucking up ones pride and saying an apology seems to be the hardest thing to do.

Thats awesome. my mom didnt like when i bring home snakes that can get +14 ft or when I almost got a blue ring octopus (highly venomus) but she has always been a loving supporting Chistian mother as long as she didnt have to go near the tanks.
