Today I came home from a 5 day cruise to discover that my Jag and Con have not only paired up but are actually still laying the eggs as I type this message.

I bought the jag at about 4" and was almost sure it was a male due to the pattern, but now that it's breeding the pattern is obviously showing to be a female...... besides the fact that its laying eggs.

On the other side this Con I have is the sole surviver of about 10 other spawns before I got rid of my cons. I let him stay because he was gangster enough to hide from all the others so long that he actually grew up.

Well now they've decided to spawn together and its got to be the oddest couple I've ever owned, however both of them are still fairly young and I don't think the fry will survive. I guess we'll see.

hope u get fry ... you have a con/gt hybrid ???

That is interesting..wonder how they would look.

nature always finds a way . . . especially when there are Convicts involved

i once thought that I had a con/Gt but it turned out that it was just an extremely green convict as it got older. It was very strange, the others I've had were always black and white. Orange bellies for the females ofcourse, but no green on them besides that oddball.

One of my friends across town has a female Uaru and a male Parrot that try to mate, obviously are unable to though.

Still funny.
