ahh! i thought it was quiet.

First, what/how/why are they "sick?"

Secondly, " planing to get rid of: 3 of my groumies my platy and molly either the angel or ram and the sengal bichir" Go ahead and do that. It will only increase the happiness and healthiness of the other fish. You should provide a better home for a few, rather than an okay home for many. The main reason your fish are becoming sick is due to the overstocking. Two weeks without a water change in there must be bad for them.

I don't think moving the fish around will really matter that much. In that respect, do what you want, move them or don't. On second thought, I would not move them and submit the jellybean cons to possible ich.

In general, not the pads, but the carbon if your using medication, but it should say on the bottle. I haven't used it so I don't know for sure.

The carbon that needs to be removed is the activated carbon which most likely are located inside the pads. It looks like black gravel.

And your Gourami are probably stressed from getting beat on by the cichlids that they shouldn't be housed with in the first place. Post some pics of your Gourami as well as the convict, I am willing to venture a guess that they have fin damage.

The JD is the best looking fish in the tank because it is most likely beating up the other fish.

Take the JD back, they are great looking fish, but you do not have the space for one. GL

It wasn't all that quiet. We had Super G with his DIS-Respectacons to fill in while C_B was away.

Good to have you back C.B. I'm sorry to hear that your fish are either beat up or sick and dying. Hope it all works out. Follow the advice given and good luck.
