Ok, my Red Terror has been sick since day one. The only one of 3 I ordered from Jeff Rapps this July to survive, it is still only two inches.

It's been treated for internal parasites three times since July. It has "stuff" hanging out of it's vent. That's why I thought internal parasites. Now I think it's actually part of the fish. It's belly is still sunken in and it will poo blood after eating.:(

The fish acts well, is perky and has good color, eats with the other fish and doesn't hide.

I'll try to get a good close-up picture of it's vent and you guys can see what I mean. It's like a piece of it's intestine is hanging out about 1/8".

Should I keep waiting, hoping it will turn out OK, or should I put it down?

Well, I just can't get a clear picture of the fish.

It isn't doing so well tonight. It didn't eat, not even blood worms which are never refused. He/she is hiding now under driftwood. More of the "stuff" is hanging out of it. It's white and ragged on the edge, but it's not fungus. There is a blood streak in the middle of whatever it is hanging out of the fish. This cannot be a parasite, I've treated (not at the same time) with Levisole, Metronidazole, Fluke-Tabs, and fed anti-parasite food (both Gel-Tek and Jungle brand.) I've also done rounds of antibiotics. I haven't put away my quarantine tank since this fish arrived in July!

I'm afraid I'll have to put it down.....:(

It died Monday. :(

Sorry I couldn't have been of more help, but I had no real advice to give since I didn't know myself what was wrong. Definitely unfortunate to lose such a stunning fish.
