Does anyone have experience treating fish for anchor worms that are housed with eels and rays. I have been physically removing the worms but they are reappearing within in a few days. I have salted up and fell ike there is no other option but to treat the tank. I considered treating with Clout but heard it shouldnt be used with scaless fish. Any suggestions?

UPDATE : I treated with CLOUT 1/4 strength. It had no adverse effects on any of my fish. The treatment seemed to resolve my anchor worm issue.

Could you explain your treatment method?

(1/4)? amount of water in tank?

I once treated 90 gallon with 1 clout pill, and my rect's died

thanks

1 Cloat pill in a 90gal will do nothing. Your ray was alreay on the way out.

Glad that worked ouy for you G1....we'll have to file that one way for another date....D

I treated 1/4 strength of recommended dose per gallon. Recommended dose 1 tablet for every 10 gallons of water( becareful to consider water displacement due to substrate , rocks etc.) I have a 265 gallon tank plus 20 gallon sump. I wanted to play it safe so added 5 tablets, increased aeration, monitored closely. I changed 1/3 water in 36 hours. I also physically removed all obvious anchor worms prior to treatment. In actuality I probally administer 1 tablet to every 50 gallons of water. Im not sure if the dose was strong enough to remove all parasites at various stages. But on 2 prior occassions I had removed all anchor worms and had reoccurence within a matter of days. Each time worst. Prior to the clout treatment 75% of my fish were affected and fish showing signs of weakness, otherwise I probally would have not resorted to the clout. Time will but so far so good. If they reappear I will let you know.

If eating and acting normal is on way out....then your right!:screwy:

They didn't eat day of treatment, nor after....

Thanks for your 2 cents.

Your ray would be dead even if you didnt add the pill
