I got some hoplo catfish and held them in quarantine for about a month before moving them in my 125. Now an anchor worm shows up on one and looks like a one or two more of the cats have them about to emerge.

Anyway, I have never treated for these. Seems if I need to treat with potassium permanganate. I just need to know which product is suggested and has had the most success?

Thanks.

Jungle Labs Anchors Away has KMnO4 in it and works well, but it can be hard on fish. You can only use it once every 6 days. Since they are scaleless, you might want to look into something else, like Trichlorfon. I'd try half the normal dose if you want to do the former or just give it salt and bump the temp and hope it goes away. It can be very hard to permanently get rid of.

Oh forgot to mention there are 4 bichirs, 4 hoplos, and 2 GT's in the tank.

How about Parasite Clear Tank Buddies? Anyone had good success with this? Seems like a lot of meds for one issue.

I have not tried Jungle's parasite clear tabnk buddies for anchor worms, but I've tried them to deworm some wild caught bichirs and also on my arowana.
They are quite safe andgentle for fish, I would try that first for anchor worms.
