Anchovies?

Has anyone ever tried feeding fresh anchovies to their fish?

I'm not really sure. I try to avoid feeding unfamiliar fish due to thyminase concerns, but I mostly keep reptiles these days, so it's more of a worry.

I could get them really cheap here. And theyre perfect cause I dont need to fillet or chop them. Perfect size for my fish haha. Tho I still need to research a lot

I don't feed anchovies to my FW tanks. They contain too much oil for my filters to have to break down. I do feed them to my SW preds. My oversized protein skimmer can remove the oils fairly quickly so they don't coat my bio-media enough to cause a die-off. The oil buildup makes the tank smell like a bad low tide, too.
The same goes for mackerel and any other high oil-content species.

Thanks for the replies! Just wanted to make sure theyre safe to feed. I dont worry about the oil much cause Im just adding them to the variety I feed my bichirs. They'll be fed about one a week or so.
