I dont know how ancient a water cow is but it sure looks it. I just bought one. It does'nt seem like it eats much. Its hard because the oscars scoop everything up when its feeding time and not much hits the bottom. Any helpful hints? Tankmates are 2 6" tiger oscars, 5" Jag, and 4" firemouth> is there any type of food i can feed it without it being eaten before it hits bottom? should i try feeders? GHOST SHRIMP?

this is probably wrong, but do you mean you bought a manatee, a sea cow

if so thats pretty cool

They're nocturnal. So it'll probably be more likely to eat in the dark.

They (Eleotris picta) are also pounce predators. I've never been able to get mine off of live food. Offer it live shiners, ghost shrimp, crayfish, tadpoles, etc.

It did well with ghost shrimp and earthworms. It even ate a small frog!! Using a feeder stick or turkey baster is the trick.
