Hello. I have a pair of longfin ancistris that have spawned and long after finding the fry I noticed they disappeared. The parents are in a heavily planted 340 gallon. I haven't seen any babies in there. There's probably close to 100 assorted community fish in the tank so I wouldn't give them much chance. I found about 15, .5"-1" fry in the sump. I removed 7 of them and put them in a 10 gallon that is completely filled with java moss that I use to spawn shrimp. There's nothing in the tank but cherry shrimp and some small hitchhiker snails. I feed those guys flake and algae disks and noticed the plecos for only a couple days. Given it's literally a tank of java moss I know I could go for a few days without seeing a baby pleco but it's been about a month without a sighting. I left the others (maybe 6 I saw) in the 75 gallon sump. It's filled with bags of pond matrix and bioballs so there's plenty of places to hide in there too. I would see some them about everyday for nearly a month. They get fed through the overflows and I also dropped some crushed up algae disks in. The biggest one was probably an inch or a little longer last week. All of a sudden I quit seeing them. Does anyone have an idea of what could have happened?

They may still be there, just may be better at hiding. Try feeding with pellet food in same location each day, just a couple and give them time to find the food. If they are finding other food, they may be less likely to show themselves.
