So I have two chocolate labs, one is 10 and is just starting to mellow out, the other is almost 2 years old and holds true to the lab energy level name. Needless to say I was concerned about getting a small little kitten and how my younger lab would handle it.

When I first brought him (the kitten) home my younger lab was all over him, wanting to play and run and chase him. I thought for sure he was going to be traumatized because he's 2 lb and she is 70 lb. Well, the next day all my fears were laid to rest...

They're now good buddies and I can't pick him up without him being all wet from dog saliva.

Just wanted to share the pic as I think it's freakin cute!

Too cute. Looks like qa screen saver lol.

awesome pic.
we thought about a cat to go with our chocolate lab but im unsure. not really a cat person plus our lab is 42kg and thinks everything wants to play, even the cats that are so scared of him and hiss at him. so a little kitten scares me.
i completely understand with the young labs energy. Nero is 3 in november and we should have called him tigger. all he does is bounce around.

My cat hisses and does the kittyattack thing at the younger lab all the time. The kitten worked out well because it didn't have that notion to fear/attack dogs so viewed my young lab as a fellow playmate.

Thats why you gotta get them when they're young.

aww thats such a cute picture.. i tried to bring home a kitten and my dogs just wanted to eat the poor thing..im glad it worked out.

Well my younger lab (the lab in this picture) was a last minute pull, she has 13 hours left before being put down. And let me tell ya, I'm not sure if it is just her personality or the fact that she was staring death row in the face, but she is afraid of her own shadow. When my older dog barks she will go inbetween my legs and try to hide.

So I knew my young dog is a wimp which did help in me trying out the whole kitten thing. My old girl is gentle as well, and like I mentioned at 10 is starting to finally slow down a little.
