Hi Everybody,

Was doing a search on Google for Ryukin and ended up here...how funny. And I thought I was the only crazy person that has this obsessive/compulsive drive to photograph fish and turn them into art......

I sit corrected. :-D

OoOOoo! Nice. *S*

I can't wait until I get my Ryukins and Ranchu home on Wednesday so I can start working on some lovely shots like that. My main focus has been Nishikigoi. I have ponds of koi to draw from as well as several aquariums that I've used as quarantine tanks to get my captures for my digital art. I'm in love with fish faces and expressions, so a lot of my stuff is portraiture.

The quality of the photographs here are simply wondrous and makes me ever so much more envious of the DSLR users. My poor little Kodak Z650 just cannot compare when it comes to taking shots of moving creatures that one may or may not be balancing with some attractive glare one would like to see make it through the UV on that oh so elusive shot. Response time...s u c k s. :-D And then there's the argument of focus to contend with. It wants to focus on one thing and I another. We argue through the shutter button all the time. It's truly ridiculous. *LOL*

That said, here's an introductory shot of my youngest koi in quarantine until it's warm enough to launch them into their pond....

It needs some work still, but I'm almost happy with it.

Show me some more goldfish, please. That Ryukin is a cutie pie.
