well, i moved these mofo's over just a week ago. everyone else is doing great but the bigger one is being a weirdo. it stims 24/7 into the left side of the tank like he's tryin to get somewhere. all day long, i put up paper, keeps going. i switched up the current in the tank to hopefully throw it off but its getting annoying. all that space in the tank and it sits in the lil corner swiming face first into the glass.. it hasn't even eatin anything since i put it in. boo, hope he comes around pretty soon.

Maybe it thinks the glass is greener on the other side. LOL

lol!

It sucks tho bro. i think eventually he will come around. ive had fish that needed weeks to adapt while others need a few minutes. just give him some time!

Man, your Aro's are giving you a run for your money!!! My loach does the same thing, since the day I brought him home. I just said f it, my pets are weird! Try changing his tank around, or moving the water current to where he is forced to go explore the rest of his tank. Zoo's call it "habitat enrichment" when they change the habitat to keep the animals interested and active. Maybe a big airstone right on that end....??? Something to stop him from developing a wacky habit. ARO PSYCHOSIS INTERVENTION!!:nilly:

Get a bog log and put it on end and float some plants, that would annoy mine into moving.

think im gonna add massive green dangling fake plants all around the sides then along the entire back and along the right side aswell. hopefully that keeps his ass moving LOL. this guy is weird. rubbing his face so hard into the glass its developing a calis of some sort. i asked my neighbor (he has a 28" aro) about it and he said his sometimes jus does that for a week or two randomly. then it'll stop n swim around again. few months later or a year later it might do it again.

mine has done this before but only to the point where if i put something up against it like paper or something he'll stop doing it completly. but now he is jus doing it. even if i stand there, i put up paper, i smack the tank. its frustrating. he does swim around a lot more now but he still ends up in that damn corner swimming into the side again... WTF

I dangle thick fake fern and secure it under the egdes of the lid. If there's any little holes he can access, I stick a plant there. Dangly (not too dangly so he can get tangled) or just plants on the top really PO my Aro, he doesn't like being tickled, ho gets mad and turns and snaps at the plants, but it moves him. Sometime an interesting new tank mate will entertasin him. Will he tolerate tankmates at all?

I've always used a single angelfish as a fish nanny. They calm to aro and teach him it's OK to trust people. It calms him. He's 13 or whatever imches now, this angelfish is maybe 2-3 ", my Aro will eat about anyone, but they have always loved and respected their Angelfish. weird..

I added an onery little buffalo head who at 2" has claimed the entire bottom of the tank. He is so funny. He charges the other fish, they stopped running from him cause he doesn't do anything. He pouts when his buffaloing tactics fail. My Aro HATES him and the pleco (4" Bristle nose pleco that is never gonna grow) he always dives for them but they're too fast. It's funny.

do your oscars and aros get along well? thanks

tank mates are not an issue at the moment. he loves tank mates, never shows ANY agression to any other fish EVER. only 1 time i had an issue, i threw in some 2" bichirs and they were like lil worms, got ate up in like 2 mins. other then that, this is his only weirdness haha. he has many many tank mates at the moment, oscars, another silver, gars, gourami, had a LMB as a tankmate but iono what happened to it. it just dissapeared. im gonna try out the plants today n see what happens, but first i gotta go find some so ill let u guys know how it goes.

Maybe stress from the ( drastic ) moove. I think you are doing everything you ought to...give it time, Ethnics.
