I am actually a fan of understocked tanks, but I hope to add another Orino or Kelberi sometime. I had to get rid of a nice Mono I got from HCR because it was going after my Tigrinus.

Looks good Tyler:thumbsup: Pics of the tig?

Nice fish Tyler! Id like to hear more about that fish in your first pic. Looks half Kelberi and half Monoculus. Bottom fins r speckled like a Kelberi but the body markings look like Mono. Mouth and eyes look Mono. Very cool and interestting fish!

That's an awesome collection. Lovin the orino and kelberi!

Thanks!

Thanks Brian.

Here's kind of a crappy pic of the Tig. He's usually hiding:

In this picture, his top trailer is gone thanks to the Mono. After that, the Mono did some damage to the flesh of his tail. I loved the Mono, but I had to get rid of him because I have every intention of giving the Tig a long happy life in my tank. He has already started to heal very nicely. The two Cichla still in the tank pay him no mind.

Thanks! That there is a true wild caught Kelberi. It is from Jeff Rapps' 3rd batch, and I got him when he was about 2". You are right about the similarities to Monos. When Kelberi were first imported, they weren't even called Kelberi. People called them super Monos because they weren't classified as a seperate species yet. Looks very different from the captive bred Bahia Kelberi you have probably seen (I love Bahia, and I'd love to add one to the tank).

great collection you have there and you the right thing with the mono - its hard sometimes when things dont quite work out.

I love that kelberi! Sad to see the mono go but I would have done the same thing. A tig really sets off the tank. How big is he and when did you get him? Your tank would look great with an azul....or another kelberi.

That kelberi is awesome.

Thank you. Yeah, in a perfect world, the fish I put in my tank would all get along, but we all know that there is no perfect world when trying to mix fish together, and that a lot of it is trial and error costing time and $$.

Thanks man. I love the Kel too! That one has been with me the longest out of all my fish. As for the Tig, I believe I got him in March, and I have gotten decent growth out of him. He is about 14" now.

Ah yes, I'd love to have another Azul after my last one met a quick, unexplained death. As for a Kelberi, I'm just waiting for Ken to send me a beautiful Bahia...lol...I wish.

That kelberi is awesome.

Thanks! I'd like to see some more pics of the Rapps Kels.....all you see nowadays are those ugly Bahia!
