And they're moved in.

WhT type of fish are the little orange guys? I didn’t see your other posts, how big is it?

im curious/ do you feed after a move? And how did you move the big guys?

We are going from a 37 to a 120g for our pleico who is 15” and don’t think he will tolerate being in a bucket so we want to move him from tank to new tank- but this is nerve wracking as you can imagine. we’ve held offon anything but wagers for a month, to help him survive in the small tank and I’m anxious to get some real food in his belly too.

a water exchange on the tanks (with each other) instead of a true water change (w/fresh) do you think that would help ?

we would be heartbroken if our fish were injured...
what should we look for once moved -as signs of distress?

he’s in a tank with our goldfish who we deciddd to move first (tomorrow?) and wondering how long to watch him before it’s safe to move the next fish?

Not my thread but I figured I could help answer some of your questions.
The little orange fish are feeder gold fish.
The water exchange will do nothing so forget about it.
Is the 120g cycled? Did you use or are you using the filter or media that is seeded on the new tank from the old tank?
As for physically moving the fish if all parameters are the same, temp, pH, then just getting the fish from one tank to the other as fast as possible is the only worry. After you move fish expect them to be a little stressed but shouldn't be too bad if like I said the tank is cycled and parameters are the same.
Tbh I'm a little worried by some of the questions you posted, and since they took down all the info on our posts and stuff I'm unsure of your level of knowledge. I'm guessing you are kind of new to this? Please before you move anything read up on the nitrogen cycle and how to cycle a tank. If you already know this then disregard me. I'm in no way trying to be mean or demeaning to you. Just want things to go smoothly for your fish and self.

We used the old media from the new tank, cycled @4 weeks and ready to add. We have a temp differential and I had read that it’s a myth not to feed after moving them- which makes logical sense when I actually stopped to think about it. If they are active and interested in eating doing a light feed a only help build strength. Only kept fish for 6 years and been through it on the learning curve (not mine originally and helping started to keep my oldest son from heartbreak).

we settled on the drip method for the big guy but still have questions

getting a 35 gallon rubbermaid
How many gallons to start from the old tank ? (Still has fish can’t take it all)
Add fish to Rubbermaid
then set the drip to 1drop per hour until ?
Ending with y gallons?

Just for the 15” or for the goldfish too? Goldie is first...

If its cycled and params are close just plop and drop. You shouldn't need to do all the other stuff. I syphoned meeli fry out of the tank they hatched in and set up a 10 gallon to put them in with a sponge filter that was seeded in my indoor pond and water from my 75g tank of randomness. They are all growing and happy. Water parameters are roughly the same I heat the room so temp is same and all water is from same source. No big deal. And those were itsy bitsy babies.
