ooooookay... so i set-up a new (again! cant stop the addictness on fish and tanks) 5.5gal tank... and decided to put black cons in there... of course i had to chose the nicest cons in my LFS! i chose the best colorful female and most dark striped male... but the thing is... the female is LARGER than my male... so, after putting them in their new "motel" the female kinda chasing the male... but in my knowledge its supposed to be the male doing the chasing... any input on these? thanks in advance guys! and.. oh yeah!!! i love this 5.5gal setup i just had! w00t! ^^

I would try moving them to a bigger setup. I had some in a 5.5 gallon that never spawned, and 2 bought at the same time that were in a 26 gallon that spawned within a week.

As to the chasing it is probably just the size difference.

I had a pair that spawned relentlessly in a 5.5 gallon tank, no problem

It could be the size difference. It also could be just that she doesn't like him. My little 2" female chases my 4" male in my 26 gallon. This was both pre and post spawning.

so u mean they still spawned even the female always chases the male? i put 2 males in the tank now to have a diversion. good idea or no?

Move them to BIGGER SETUP you fish beater.....lol.....Even though I look at cons as the other feeder meat, I still own one....Then again, he IS only a target fish in my p tank, but that's besides the point....Get your fish out of that 5g and put them in something for them to thrive in, especially if you look at this species as a cool pet rather than a feeder....If you have $40-60 to spend, buy them a 25-55g...:naughty:
