Anderson Silva to retire

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Man. He's a great fighter.
I thought you were talking about George St.Pierre for a minute. I got confused. I'm a St. Pierre fan.

Silva can't retire! He's still in his prime. I can understand he doesn't want to be another Couture later on down the road but that's a long way off. What about the 205lb division...I thought he was exploring that. Now he says it was a one time thing and he only wants to sit outside the ring with a fat belly eating popcorn? He believes his time is already over. What ever, that's wack.

The dude has accomplished quite a bit especially with the win in 205....u can call it lucky if u want, but nonetheless it was devastating. Im a huge fan of Silva and I would think he has quite a bit of fight left in him...enuff where he could still leave and not be close to Randy's age, after a few more fights. His last fight with Cote showed me a side of him i have never seen before....he usually has more sportsmanship than that, but hey he is human. No one is perfect, we all make mistakes. If he feels its his time to go he probably wants to go out on top...i would love to see him stay personally but hey im not the one in there defending a belt against bloodthirsty fighters...LOL...

Thats sucks.. i doubt he retires so young

I always route against Silva, but there is no way he should retire yet. That's insane. He's at the best part of his career and he needs to stick around til someone beats him legitamitely at least. That would be like Fedor retiring.

Don't worry guys. He has 5 fights left on his contract so you get to see him a few more times. Rumor has it that he will go back to 205 for his next fight at UFC 95 in London and his opponent might just be Chuck Lidell and then he will defend his title again against Okami (who he lost to by DQ a few years back) if Okami can win his next fight coming up soon.
