Hey Duane, how does this species compare with rivulatus as far as aggression levels? Are they in between rivulatus and blue acaras? Asking strictly out of curiousity.
 
I have spoken to a few people that say they had a hard time with aggression with these, but also thought the tanks they used were too small.
Hard to compare in varied tnk sizes, because I believe aggression has more to do with proper tank size than any other factor, and to me anything under 100 gallons is too small for any large Andinoacara ( maybe the "blues" could take something smaller)..
This species is said to only reach 6", so quite a bit smaller than rivuletus, and slightly larger than blue acaras, yet as you can see, the alpha male has restricted all other fish (except 1, the goby) to the other half of a 180 gal, he normally seems to break off chase,at the 4 ft mark, not leaving a lot of wiggle room for the others, but...his attacks in this tank (so far), have not yet been lethal.
