I started a thread a little while ago about a 'breeding' pair of white saums i picked up. It turned out that i had two males, so i figured id start another thread seeing as i decided to keep just the one male.

He's around 7-8 inches and eating a mixture of NLS and New Era.

The tank is 60"x18"x20" filtered by a DIY wet dry and tank mates consist of two male Ancistrus sp. ( Bristlenose ) at around 5 inches. The tank isn't scaped as i'd like yet, so ill hold off on the FTS for now :nilly:

I'll use this thread for photo updates of progress and development, cheers!

White saum were not uncommon when Rivulatus were first imported. But they were considered less desirable than the orange saum, so they were selectively bred out. I notice your fish has a long body, characteristic of wilder strain. Domesticated strain has shorter body, like mine in the avator which has a high body form.

Looks really good. Nice Saum. I have a little female I am going to put in with my male when she gets a bit bigger.

Thanks for the kind words. I'll be on the look out for a female although they seem hard to come by, especially at this size.

I suppose I'll have to convince the other half to get another tank and grow a few out lol :naughty:

Love it. So hard to fine the white edged ones now a days, which is too bad because they blow the gaudy, ugly orange rimmed ones.

I acquired some driftwood with Java moss attached today, and although I'm not finished with the scape I thought I'd share a pic.

I'd like to add some more anubias and a few rocks here and there, but this is how it looks for now.

And another of the boy...

I also need some more lighting for the photography side of things :wall:

More to come....
