Picked up this guy thinking it was a metae but now I'm leaning so orinoco...
What you guys think, it was in labelled in the store.

Quite possible, based on appearance and considering you're in the UK where some came in a few years ago and were apparently distributed around a bit (beyond that I don't know their history in the UK). You might find more first hand knowledge of them on the right UK forum. There's another similar looking fish (at that size), A. sp. inirida, which is close geographically. Don't know whether any inirida are in the UK, so that may or may not be a possibility.

From what I've read, they're a relatively easygoing species.

Yeah it's quite meek, I tried it in my 90g and it was straight pinned in the corner so he now resides in the appistogramma tank, seems to be behaving even tho he is like king Kong among the chimps lol.
I will Google the said species thanks.
