This is Andy, the biggest of my two stalsbergi. I'm assuming he is a male, long fins, lots of colour, etc. He is the most aggressive fish I have ever kept despite being only 3" TL.

Let me know what you think :D

Thanks :)

This thread should clear it up. http://monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?p=63

The term 'false' GT is never to be used. Worst. Description. Ever.

A 'false' GT is a gold or white saum. Saums are definately not hybrids. They are a seperate species which originate from Ecuadorion rivers.

So since you say he's really aggressive, can you describe how he takes it out on the community? Did any research foretell that you won't be able to have a community once he gets bigger?

Well...
He is most aggressive with his own kind, constantly nipping and chasing the smaller one (why I'm getting more). He will ocassionally bite the cories or the SDs for getting too close. Other than that he's fairly peaceful towards them. However, around feeding he gets VERY protective of his food, and you know how the SDs love their food! He spends more time defending his massivore than eating it! Being that he is down 5:1 vs the SDs he gets real angry and usually takes it out on everyone. The cories and tetras tend to stay out of his way. He doesn't mind the tetras, unlike the previous male.

I feel that the community will work well for the most part. The tetras are the only fish I really fear for as he grows. The BHTs will replace them when I manage to find them. My little bro has some cories which are huge, so I think once my 6 pile on the pounds they will be big enough to take a hit, should he get angry.

I am still trying to get a video uploaded, but with no success. I will try again this weekend to show you his manorisms. :)

Interesting! It's good to hear he can compete with five silver dollars that are way bigger than him. They seriously are pigs, sometimes I get concerned about their health though; just the other day I saw my SD eat my GT's poop and didn't spit it out! LOL! I have to say that they aren't very bright, at least mine aren't. They scare easily and trap themselves as well... With that being said, I think they are the comedians of the tank.

I have a feeling Andy(cute name for a mean fish) will make quick work of the tetras when he gains a few more inches. He's probably not confident/comfortable yet about eating them.

How does your female TGT(true gt) behave during feeding time?

Well, he has far more bulk than the SD's so he doesn't mind throwing it about. It is good that he manages to get food though, The SD's would share with no-one given the chance. Mine are the last fish to scare, ALWAYS. They will often eat out of my hands and are always at the surface when they know its feeding time. It may be because I have 5 of them they feel comfortable, while you having only 2 they scare easier?

Well, I named him Andy the Andinoacara, and when I get my female, she will be Sally the Stalsbergi.

The other fish I believe is a smaller male, unfortunately. So, when pellets are fed he doesn't gets much, because of the SDs and Andy but when its bloodworms or such, he swims through the cloud filling his little face!

Well, Andy is larger than the previous male I had, and he had no Issues picking off the FRNT's so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that he leaves them be :)

Hmm... your explanation makes sense, I didn't think about that. Instead of tightening up the school they panic since they are "alone." I kind of feel bad now for putting them in this position. It's not that they are not happy though, they just don't know where to find comfort when stressed out, leading to panic.

Now that I know the reason behind the name, I like it, hahaha. Will your next male be Noah then? :)

It seems that Andy is more tamed(or maybe was tamed by) the previous alpha, so I hope he will be more of a pacifist!
