hi,
my name is andy and i live in central massachusetts. i have had fresh water tanks since i was a young child.
i picked up a 220 gallon in march and spent a few months stripping the silicone and redoing it. (using the info from this fourum) it also had two side painted and the trim was a mess. i also restored the wrought iron stand. i have a fluval FX5 (still in the box) and some coralife T5 lights. i plan on sticking with fancy goldfish.
my problem is that i am overwhelmed with the size of it. it is in my kitchen (empty) on the stand on moving dollies.
i am contemplating a UV sterilizer but even after reading the info in here i am still not sure which one to use and how it is hooked up.
i had my fish in a 55 until it sprung a leak, so i moved them into a 30 until the 220 is all set. my largest tank was a 125 which this tank seems to dwarf.
do you think i'll need to put braces on in the cellar under the area i am setting it up in? i have a couple of 5 gallon pails of gravel but it looks like i'll need a couple more. i want to keep this as simple as possible.
regards,
andy b
