Anemone

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Anemones are pretty easy with a good lighting source, they are for the most part, extreme filter feeders and photosynthetic. They do however need a source fish meat aswell - 1/2 a silverside twice a month will do.

I have a question about my anemone. In the morning it looks like its dead with its mouth wide open and all the tentacles are a deflated since its a green BTA ands is also shrinks too. After about a hour its huge and and eating and all the tentacles are bubbly. Then, half way through the day it is the same as it was in the morning. Than after an hour it goes back to normal until I turn off the lights. PLease help.

How long have you had it?

It is likely that if it is new to the aquarium that it is still settling in.

if you have however had it for an extendend amount of time....think of it as a sunflower. sunflowers perk up and almost stare at the sun when it is out, and in the night time they lay their heads down. Anemones will pop up and be super active when the light is on, it could be that when it deflates it could be sick OR it could just be going through a diff phase of photosynthesis.
